Whistling for Elephants

Sandi Toksvig

It is a bizarre and very entertaining book about a 10-year old girl called Dorothy with inadequate parents. It is laugh-out-loud funny, although some of the dialogue is unconvincing and inappropriate for a young girl.

Very disappointing. Difficult to distinguish between the author and the narrator.

This began well and was very funny. Doreen could hear the voice of Sandi Toksvig in the narration. However, the book went downhill fairly soon and became a seventies style feminist rant.
