A Patchwork Planet
Anne Tyler
This doesn't tread any unfamiliar territory. It's about a guy in
small town America. It's a bit twee, a bit neat. Not her best
book. Her skill seems to be softening with age (like Penelope
Lively). It's quite funny in places. Partially recommended.

Again, a well-regarded author who leaves Jean unimpressed. This
one is OK, another family story but Jean is still unconvinced.

Although not profound, an enjoyable read with likeable characters.
