Troilus and Cressida
William Shakespeare
About the Greek siege of Troy, Gill read it because she was going to see it at the Globe. Theme - the futility of war. Women don't come out of it well. Gill found it the hardest Shakespeare play to read so far - needed to do lots of looking up to understand it. At the Globe the play was in original pronunciation - a lovely rural-sort of Irish type language (but it made understanding even harder for those not familiar with the play!).
