Her Living Image

Jane Rogers

Rob admitted that this was not the sort of book he would normally read and had it been reviewed in this book group he probably wouldn't have read it.

It concerns an eighteen year old girl who suffers a traumatic event at the start of the novel. From then on the book divides into two narratives of the possible lives that she could live. At some point the two narratives intertwine but the writing is straight forward and easy to follow. Rob found this an unexpectedly good read.

Doreen didn't like this old-fashioned story with its familiar conceit of parallel stories.
