I Don't Know How She Does It
Alison Pearson
Trashy novel about a working woman with two kids. Very funny and
well written, even though the story is a bit unoriginal.

This is not great literature but it has been serialised on the
radio. It is similar to Bridget Jones' Diary, but much funnier.

An easy read about a woman coping with a high-powered career and two children. Quite funny, with a couple of amusing bits. Andrew didn't like the woman herself - she was very "on show", always worried about what people would think. Definitely a "girl's book".

This is about a mother of 2 who has a nanny. The mother is a fund
manager and she's trying to do it all. Caroline didn't take to
the character so only the humour kept her going. It's only when
she ends up in Yorkshire with the inlaws that Caroline started to
sympathise. It all wraps up in a terrific rush at the end.

Jean wasn't entirely sure about this book. It seems to be part of a growing trend featuring modern women who are juggling family and career. On the other hand, there are funny moments and some nice human touches in the story.
