A potentially off-putting cover (far too chick-lit for Gill's taste) to a good book. Basically, it's about cooking - the Jamaican-extraction lead character runs a restaurant in London but goes up North following the death of her mother. There are great descriptions of cooking and there's an incident in the middle of the book that Gill ran with but simply couldn't believe, though perhaps it's because she is so far removed and unfamiliar with the culture. Recommended though.
