from Anton - could be anyone in the village. Traces lives of
different families in 1916,1917, 1920,1977 - disconcerting
switching from one thing to another. Every chapter is like a
short story. Highly recommended.

Doreen gave up on this book due to boredom. It reads like a
translation, which it isn't, and she found it difficult to follow
characters.
