The book is part of a trilogy and Invitation to the Waltz is better but Jane really enjoyed it. It must have been shocking in its day The main character has an affair with a married man. It’s a very straightforward account and it has not dated at all. She is not portrayed as a sinner who will be punished so it’s very modern. Recommended.
