The author also wrote the script for the film "E.T." This is an utterly preposterous novel, but enjoyable for being so. In it, an author disappears into the woods of Maine to write a book. His first is destroyed, but a bear steals the second and takes it to a publisher, who publishes it. It gets stranger.
