Prodigal Summer
Barbara Kingsolver
Not as good as The Poisonwood Bible. Tone is rather lecturing. The
characters explain to each other such things as the benefits of organic
growing, the dangers of pesticides, and the catastrophic effects of
interfering with nature. She is also very keen on the idea that babies
are the path to women's happiness and that most men are only good for sex and providing babies.

Seán stopped part way through this book because he
couldn't get on with it, before taking it up again and finishing it - a bit of a mission. It's a story about three couples, resolved by them all being related. He thought the book was ridiculous, obsessed with the idea of fertility, and not believable at all.
