Cause Celeb

Helen Fielding

An everyday tale of disillusioned and romantically wounded media folk turned famine relief workers by the author of Bridget Jones' Diary. Although it was a fairly enjoyable and easy read Andrew felt that some of the characters didn't really ring true.

The book is about a media person who goes off to work in an aid camp and who comes back to raise money for the cause

Quite good, quite funny, not brilliant but well written and entertaining. Some of the London bits read like "an outsider's view of an insider's point of view" and were rather hard to wade through; and there was no real feeling communicated for the Africans in need.

A semi-recommendation.
