This autobiography of a founder of the Findhorn Community reveals a very strange person, not what Caroline had expected. She marries an ex-serviceman and has five children with him before she meets Peter Caddy and starts hearing God: he apparently tells her to go off with Peter, which she does, bearing him three children. Impoverished, she and Peter share a house with Sheena, Peter's ex-wife, and they end up running a hotel in Scotland. Due to God's helpful messages the hotel is at first a success but eventually they end up in a caravan park near Findhorn and go on to found the community. Then Peter leaves her for somebody else, which she doesn't particularly appreciate and to top that God stops talking to her.Interesting and compelling in a strange way but Caroline couldn't really decide whether or not she was barking (the rest of the book club and particularly Doreen, had no difficulty in deciding).
