Perfect Tense
Michael Bracewell
Another book about a day in the office but nothing like 'The
Mezzanine'. A work of fiction with no plot and just one character
who ruminates about work, life, capitalism, being in his 40s. A
wistful tone. Well-written. Recommended.

Andrew sniggered all the way through this novel due to it's sheer
familiarity. It's about working in an office in London and it
resonated with him. It has no real characters or plot. The
narrator feels that he's fallen into this life and doesn't know
how to get out. It gets across the atmosphere of a London office
very well.

This had been read and reviewed twice already so Jean said simply
that it was very evocative of office life, she enjoyed it and it
was worth reading.

This was awful. Why did he bother to write it? It's probably more
interesting for people who work in an office in London, which is
what this book is about (and nothing much else).
