The LETSBuzz Book Club is an informal group meeting approximately monthly on a Sunday evening at someone's house. We bring along the books that we've each been reading to talk about them to the group. This generally provokes discussion amongst us about the book, the author, or in many cases, some almost unrelated subject.
There are no rules about what you have to read and all the members have their own idiosyncratic preferences - travel writing, music, biography, science fiction, whatever.
If you love reading then you're always looking for new authors to read or warnings about those not worth bothering with - a condemnation is as valuable as a recommendation (and, lets face it, sometimes the former can make you want to read a book - one of the group's most read books ever was "Firebird" by Janice Graham, which Andrew gave such a bad review that everyone wanted to borrow it to see if it was as bad as he said - happily, it was).
A book that the whole group wants to read will be lent around until everyone has finished and then discussed as a 'set book' (though, again, there's no obligation) and there is always a brisk trade in book lending and borrowing amongst the members. The group started early in 1998 and although it's going strong, it's always good to have some new faces and tastes in reading.
Once in a while we've had readers of our website email their response to our comments. We enjoy reading these, but they may be added to the reviews (without your full email address), so be warned.
Finally, navigation should be obvious. If there are any problems with this website, please email us. It's possible that you've arrived here via a search engine and the frames are all wrong - at the bottom of each screen you will find a link that should restore correct functioning.
